Abstract

Abstract : Fatal infectious disease acquired during international travel is less likely to be captured through existing surveillance when diagnosis is delayed or missed, especially as autopsy rates decline. Death of a young girl owing to malaria demonstrates needs for increased examination of travel‐related deaths through postmortem investigation, autopsy, and expanded surveillance.
