Abstract

Abstract : In a musical allegory for chemical synthesis a guitar player in a flask creates notes that become an organic compound. Even a gifted musician needs a good instrument to express her/his talent in the best possible way. Likewise, even a skillful chemist needs a set of tools that allows new molecules to be constructed efficiently. In their Review (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202102108 ), O. O. Grygorenko et al. cover one example of such tools—saturated boronic derivatives. Applications of the title compounds in synthetic and medicinal chemistry are discussed. Artwork by Vitalii Boklashchuk.
