- According to Dawes and Thomas (2009) the major priority of Defence Medical Services in battlefield casualties is haemorrhagic control. In recent years the author has witnessed a marked change in clinical guidelines regarding haemorrhagic shock. The purpose of this article is to outline the recent changes to protocol.
