Abstract

Abstract: Phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of Laggera pterodonta (DC.) Benth. led to the isolation of twenty-one compounds (1 –21 ), including nine sesquiterpenoids (1 –9 ), four flavonoids (10 –13 ), four triterpenoids (14 –17 ) and four glucosides (18 –21 ). This is the first report of isolation of compounds 17 and 21 from Laggera genus and compounds 18 –20 within the Asteraceae family. The chemophenetic significance of isolates was detailedly introduced. In addition, compound 1 exhibited activity against H1N1 influenza A virus and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Two compounds (17, 21 ) were first isolated from the Laggera genus . Three compounds (18 –20 ) were first isolated from the Asteraceae family. Compound 1 exhibited activity against H1N1 influenza A virus and respiratory syncytial virus. The study revealed the chemophenetic significance in Laggera pterodonta.
