- Abstract: The article discusses human thermal sensations and proposes an improved modification of the Fanger model based on experimental research. The Fanger model was created in the late 1960s and many studies have shown inaccuracies between Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) generated with this model and Thermal Sensation Vote (TSV) obtained in actual tests. 263 people aged 18 to 41 expressed their willingness to test their thermal feelings in selected rooms of the Kielce University of Technology. The questionnaire responses regarding thermal sensations (TSV) and the known body masses index (BMI) of these people clarified the relationship between them. The results of thermal sensation vote (TSV) - actual, as well as the results calculated using the Fanger model -PMV are also shown. The main assumption of the research was to modify the Fanger model in terms of body mass index (BMI). The results have proven that the modification is more accurate than the original model.
