- Abstract : Electroreduction of CO2 to CO is a promising approach for the cyclic use of CO2, but still suffers from impractical current density and durability. A single‐atom nanozyme (Ni−N 5 −C ) that achieves industrial‐scale performance for CO2 ‐to‐CO conversion is reported by Pei‐Qin Liao and co‐workers in their Research Article (e202210985) . Compared with the planar Ni−N4 site, the square‐pyramidal Ni−N5 site has significant differences in the dz² and dxz/yz orbital energy levels. Thus the Ni−N5 catalytic site has superior properties in activating CO2 molecules and promoting CO desorption.
