- Abstract: This study investigated the influence of curing temperature on the hydration properties and microstructure of cement paste containing recycled brick powder (RBP). The results indicated that curing temperature has a huge impact on the hydration process of the paste, rising temperature promotes the hydration of the paste, and this effect is further manifested as the increase of temperature. Rising temperature increases the content of Ca(OH)2, and can enable more molecules to obtain energy and convert them into activated molecules to promote the pozzolanic reaction between RBP and Ca(OH)2, reaction products fill the pores and affect the porosity of the paste. Besides, the increase of curing temperature is very favorable for the development of compressive strength before 7 days of hydration of cement. Properly increasing the curing temperature is an effective method to solve the lack of early strength, and also broadens the application range of RBP. Highlights: Use of RBP has good environmental and economic benefits. Rising curing temperature motivates the pozzolanic activity of RBP. Rising curing temperature improves the early strength of the paste. Properly changing the curing temperature can expand the application range of RBP.
