- Abstract : Triboelectric nanogenerators possessing polymeric contact electrification layers have been a state‐of‐the‐art technology for portable and wearable applications, but the intrinsic low permittivity of polymers has posed a significant charge loss, limiting the electrical outputs from the nanogenerators. The incorporation of conductive fillers into the polymer matrix represents a promising route to enhance the dielectric constant of polymers while remaining the surface properties, but the geometric influence of fillers is yet to be uncovered. Herein, the cooperativity of silver nanostructures with differing geometry on triboelectric power generation in polyimide film layers is reported. Upon implementation of silver nanorods into a polymer film, the dielectric constant is improved a 2.5‐fold compared to the pristine polymer film, resulting in a remarkable enhancement of up to 830% in output power of the nanogenerators. Abstract : Conductive Ag nanostructures are incorporated into the polyimide matrix enhancing the dielectric constant and electrostatic induction in polymers. The nanorods induce more charges on the surface compared to nanoparticles likely due to their high aspect ratio. The incorporation of nanorods brings a remarkable improvement in charge storage efficiency in the polyimide layers, allowing to harness larger power outputs.
