- Abstract: The MgAl-LDHs film was in situ grown on the PEO film of magnesium alloy by hydrothermal growth method, and the PEO-LDHs-SDS composite film modified by sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was further prepared. The results show that compared with the single-layer PEO film, the PEO-LDHs-SDS composite film exhibits excellent short-term and long-term protection performance, which can be attributed to the blocking effect of the superhydrophobic surface of the composite film, the sealing effect of LDHs on the micropores of the PEO film, and the readsorption and corrosion inhibition of SDS anions. Graphical Abstract: ga1 Highlights: The MgAl-LDHs film was grown in situ on PEO film by hydrothermal growth method. The superhydrophobic PEO-LDHs-SDS composite film was further obtained by SDS modification. The LDHs nanoplates perfectly seal the microporous defects on the PEO film. The PEO-LDHs-SDS composite film exhibits durable hydrophobicity and long-term protective properties.
