Abstract

Abstract : ( Am J Obstet Gynecol . 2020;222:488.e1–488.e8) Opioid misuse has risen in the United States in recent years. Women may be overprescribed opioids following cesarean delivery, which may lead to opioid misuse by patients. There is no clear recommendation from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for opioids prescribed upon discharge after cesarean delivery. This study compared analgesia following cesarean delivery with opioids, ibuprofen and acetaminophen with treatment with only ibuprofen and acetaminophen.
