Abstract

Abstract: Industry 4.0 is a highly demanded concept that has proved to improve the production effciencies of the factories. The most important factor of industry 4.0 lies in the digitization of the production process where more advanced technologies like cloud computing, internet of things, industrial internet of things and many more are used. This paper describes the setup of a benchmark industry 4.0 plant on a lab-scale using all these advanced state of the art technologies which are necessary for an industry 4.0 plant and it is a mimic of a fuid filling plant. This industry 4.0 plant makes use of various controllers which are used in industries and also various micro-controllers, so this helps anyone to understand how all these components are being used in industries. The educational advantages of having such a lab setup of an industry 4.0 plant in an University is also discussed in this paper.
