- Abstract: There is a significant need for high‐performance catalysts capable of degrading harmful petrochemical waste for wastewater treatment. The biosynthetic approach is employed here for preparing ZnTiO3 nanospheres. In the present investigation, lemon extract was used for synthesizing the above nanospheres. ZnTiO3 nanospheres were further characterized by XRD, UV‐Vis DRS, PL Spectra, BET, SEM‐EDAX, TEM, AFM, and Zeta Potential techniques. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared photocatalyst was tested against real wastewater samples from the petrochemical industry. 96.74% wastewater degradation was observed with ZnTiO3 nanospheres. Moreover, GC‐MS was employed for identical analysis of organic pollutants before and after petrochemical treatment. This study shows how to make cost‐effective and environmentally friendly catalysts that can be used to use UV light for wastewater treatment more effectively.
