- Abstract: In this study, the tourmaline/La1−x Cex CoO3 tourmaline-perovskite composite materials were prepared by sol-gel method, and the materials were characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The catalytic activity of tourmaline/La1−x Cex CoO3 composite material as a catalyst based on sulfate radical advanced oxidation processes (SR-AOP) was investigated using methylene blue (MB) as the model pollutant and permonomonosulfate (PMS) as the oxidant. The results show that the composite with 2 wt% tourmaline has the best catalytic activity, under the condition that the dosage of catalytic material is 0.1 g/L and the dosage of PMS is 0.2 g/L, MB with a concentration of 15 mg/L can be completely removed in 13 min, and the first-order kinetic constant is 0.3871 min −1 . More importantly, the addition of tourmaline improved the activity of the catalytic materials to degrade high concentration MB, the removal rate of MB in the pH range of 2–11, and the resistance of the catalytic material to inorganic ions. The stability and reusability of the catalytic materials were also improved by the addition of tourmaline. Graphical Abstract: ga1 Highlights: The CLT2 material was prepared by sol-gel method.
