- Abstract : Front Cover: To quickly and cheaply create spatially‐defined chemical patterns on surfaces will be beneficial in many fields, including biomaterials, and may be achieved with plasma polymerization using atmospheric‐pressure plasma jets (APPJ). The addition of heptylamine monomer in a helium plasma jet alters the surface chemistry, treatment pattern, and cellular response compared to a helium plasma alone. In their study the authors demonstrate that plasma polymerization with heptylamine on polystyrene (PS) surfaces, using an atmospheric pressure plasma jet, can enable mammalian cell attachment and growth.
