Abstract

Abstract : For nearly 50 years the hypothesis has been debated that withholding cows' milk from babies reduces the risk of allergic disease. Numerous studies have been conducted of varying design, size, and quality, and with conflicting results. Evidence tends to favour the hypothesis, but the only firm conclusion that can be drawn is that random controlled trials with blind assessment are needed to settle the issue.
