- Abstract: Alumunium alloys are increasingly becoming important for industrial applications. The addition of reinforcement particles improves the mechanical and tribological properties of these alloys considerably. This paper is structured in a manner to focus on various mechanisms such as grain refinement resulting in improvement of mechanical and tribological properties. The effect of titanium diboride (TiB2 ) on the various alumunium alloys has been enumerated in this paper
