Abstract

Abstract : The back‐cover illustration (referring to article number 2000670 by Jin‐Chong Tan and co‐workers) shows a multilayer electroluminescent LED device constructed from a new Guest@MOF composite material, designated as Gaq3@ZIF‐8. This light‐emitting material is engineered from the nanoscale confinement of a semiconducting metal complex (Gaq3 guest) incarcerated in the cages of a zeolitic metal‐organic framework (ZIF‐8 MOF), as presented on the right. The protection provided by the MOF host has enhanced the photostability of the composite system. Notably the device is completely free of rare‐earth elements which are expensive and toxic to the environment. The prototype LED‐MOF device can be switched on by a remarkably low voltage of 3 V.
