- Abstract : Functional materials have the potential to significantly impact on the development of neural implants designed to promote regeneration or to interface bi‐directionally the signals between the brain and an external device. Physicochemical functionaliziation of a neural implant to present an electrochemically or biologically active interface, as decribed by Catalina Vallejo Giraldo, Manus Biggs, and co‐workers in article number 1605035, represents a particularly rapidly expanding research field.
