- Abstract: This paper explores the possibility of spark plasma resistant heating and bonding technique for joining dissimilar alloys of modified 9Cr-1Mo steel and 316LN stainless steel. The bonding was carried out at a temperature of 900 °C with a heating rate of 50 °C/min, with the pressure of 30 MPa for soaking 5 min. Microstructure and mechanical properties of the bonded samples were analysed. Electro chemical polarisation and impedance studies were made to study the corrosion behavior of the base material and the bonded zone.
