Abstract

Abstract : A bowl‐shaped nitrogen‐doped nanographene composed of a pyrrolo[3, 2‐ b ]pyrrole core substituted with six arene rings circularly bonded with one another undergoes bowl‐to‐bowl inversion with a low barrier. This inversion resembles that of an umbrella flipped by the strong wind. The transition state is not planar, but possesses a rather twisted, S‐shaped conformation with C i symmetry. The bowl‐inversion mechanism follows a quadruple‐well potential model, as reported by Andrzej L. Sobolewski, Michał K. Cyrański, Daniel T. Gryko, and co‐workers in their Research Article on page 14998 .
