- Abstract: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is playing a very important role in the detection of various abnormalities in the human body. Biomedical image processing is helping us in the proper identification of various abnormalities such as a malignant tumour in various parts of the body. In this paper different types of filtering methods applied in the pre-processing stage have been compared. When MRI images have been corrupted by Gaussian noise then various filters are applied to obtain recovered MRI images. After performing filtering operation segmentation has been applied on MRI images to obtain tumour region. The processes have been implemented with the help of MatLab 2018.
