- Abstract : The Front Cover shows how substituents at the 3‐ and 5‐positions on the benzene ring of N, N, N', N'‐tetrakis(2‐hydroxybenzyl)‐1, 2‐diaminoethane influence the formation of two different types of cis ‐[MoO2 ]‐complexes upon reaction with [Mo VI O2 (acac)2 ] in MeOH. DFT computations support preferential formation of complexes 1 and 2 with ligands having more steric crowding. It is interesting to note that both types of complexes undergo trans‐metalation upon reaction with V V O(OEt)3 and form the corresponding [V V O]‐complexes; however, one of the arms of the ligands breaks during the reaction. Similar [V V O]‐complexes upholding all four arms have been obtained with ligands having methyl or chloro substituents at the 3‐ and 5‐positions upon reaction with V V O(OEt)3 . These complexes are excellent functional models for haloperoxidases. More information can be found in the Research Article by M. R. Maurya and co‐workers .
