- Abstract : Snake Venom Hydrogels Death from uncontrolled bleeding is considered preventable. Taking the innovation from nature, Amanda W. Kijas, Alan E. Rowan, and co‐workers, in article number 2200574, employ proteins from snake venom to both accelerate clotting and retain a stable blood clot delivered with a topically applied thermoresponsive hydrogel to seal the wound. This achieves striking reductions in both blood loss and clotting time, in addition to overcoming dysfunctional blood coagulation arising from blood thinner medication.
