- ABSTRACT: Background: Medical education programs are faced with the ubiquitous challenge to innovate, which requires financial resources. Medical educators often face challenges of how best to communicate with financial officers to justify the expense for educational innovations. The Association of American Medical Colleges groups on business affairs and educational affairs collaborated to address this communication issue. Methods: The Business Model Canvas is an open access framework designed for industry. It was revised to address the needs of medical educators.
