Abstract

Abstract: The extinct lacewing family Mesochrysopidae (Neuroptera: Chrysopoidea), particularly its adult stage, is rarely found from the amber inclusion. Here we re-describe the species Burmotachinymphes bilobata (Mesochrysopidae: Tachinymphinae), which is one of the two mesochrysopid species hitherto known from the Cretaceous amber, based on a new female specimen with better preservation condition from mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber. New morphological data on the antenna, prothorax, and female genitalia is added to this species. Furthermore, the distinctive morphological characters of B . bilobata with significant phylogenetic relevance are discussed.
