Abstract:: Abstract : The electrochemical reduction of aryl-substituted dibenzoylmethanes was studied in acetonitrile. They display one-electron couples that are chemically and electrochemically reversible at low concentrations. The formal potentials correlate with only one (σ 0 ) of the various Hammett parameters.
