Abstract

Abstract: Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are the biopolymers that are prepared and synthesized by different microorganisms. Several physical properties of these polymers are similar to petroleum-based plastics like polypropylene, showing potential of these natural polymers to be alternate for petroleum-based plastics. The most common PHAs in different microorganisms are: Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), Polyhydroxyvalerate (PHV) and their copolymer (PHBV). In this study we have determined Zagreb, general Randić, atom bond connectivity and geometric arithmetic topological indices for these three polymers, which can be helpful for correlating several physical properties of these polymers with the topological indices.
