- Abstract: In this study, enhancement of heat transfer for the fluid passing through the corrugated pipe with magnetic flux is made with the support of numerical simulation and optimisation techniques. The numerical simulation is carried out in the computational fluid dynamics approach, and the flow behaviour and surface heat transfer coefficients are predicted. The flow domain is created as a two-dimensional geometry in GAMBIT package, and the flow field is numerically simulated in Fluent software. The double precession pressure-based solver is employed to solve the governing equations, and the results from the numerical simulation are validated with benchmark results. Later optimisation techniques are employed to identify the best value for the control parameters like groove diameter, pitch distance between groove, inflow velocity and magnetic flux on heat transfer enhancement. The best value of control parameters enhances the heat transfer by 2.3 times with reference to a straight pipe. Also, regression models are developed to predict the heat transfer coefficient for any combination of control parameters.
