Abstract

Abstract: The calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) is a rare type of odontogenic tumor, which accounts for <3% of the total odontogenic tumors. It is reported that its peak incidence is in the fifth decade, and it often occurs in the lower molars. Despite being a benign tumor in general, it may rarely cause local invasion or recurrence; thus, resection with a margin may be indicated. In this paper, we report a case of a 27-year-old female who had CEOT in the anterior maxilla. The clinico-pathological and radiographic findings of biopsy specimens obtained from patients could not deny malignancy. The immunohistological findings with Ki-67 antibody were useful in deciding the treatment procedure. Seven years after the operation, there is no evidence of recurrence.
