- Abstract: With increasing demand of high rate of production have led to develop high speed cutting machine tool which ultimately inducing higher vibration in cutting operation. In this paper, passive control system has been explored by computational analysis to reduce chatter in turning process. Effectiveness of MLPD slots has compared with three different geometry using viscoelastic material. Computation analysis of proposed MLPD concept has evaluated with harmonic response and corresponding damping ratio has derived with half power band theory. Outcome of harmonic analysis and half power band theory conclude MLPD with spline curve is more effective to reduce vibration.
