Abstract

Abstract: The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) helps people make lifestyle changes to lose weight. Women who have had gestational diabetes mellitus maintain a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes and may be reluctant to participate in DPP. Our study analyzed the preference for in-person vs. online DPP among these women. Highlights: Women who have had GDM vary in their perceived risk of type 2 diabetes. Non-college graduates are more likely to prefer in-person versus on-line DPP. Women who don't know whether GDM conveys risk are more likely to prefer in-person DPP.
