- Abstract: This work deals with the designing and simulation of Tin Halide Perovskite Solar Cell (THPSC). Its structure is glass/transparent conductive oxide (TCO)/titanium dioxide (buffer) as Electron Transport Material (ETM)/defect layer 1/tin halide Perovskite (Absorber)/defect layer 2/Cuprous Iodide as Hole Transport Material (HTM)/Metal back. Its design is generated using SCAPS 1-D software which has resulted in the Fill Factor (FF) of 82.45% and Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) of 36.18%. On further optimization, the effect of thickness and total defect density of an absorber layer has been observed. It has been seen that total defect density variation has enhanced PCE and FF to a remarkable level i.e. up to 42.16% of PCE and 90.39% of FF. In comparison with the available literature, there is an improvement in the FF by 2.089%–11.4549% and PCE by 45.379%–74.93%.
