- Abstract: This contribution deals with a new modelling approach for rheological elements, which is experimentally validated with special rubber measurements. Basically, the new material model is characterized by time-rescaling invariance by embracing characteristics, which seemed to be exclusive for elastoplasticity or for viscoelasticity. The new model simulates a rate-dependent material with rubber-typical relaxation behavior. In order to validate this model, a number of rubber measurements are conducted with standard and modified sine functions. For this purpose, high requirements are imposed on the test control of the testing machine, the specimen setup and the measuring device. As a result, a very good correlation between new simulation data and new experimental measurements of filled EPDM rubber can be observed.
