Abstract

Abstract: Industry 4.0 enabling technologies form the building foundation through which industrial automation having intelligent systems can become possible in the 21 st century. By implementation, Industry 4.0 will solve challenges in manufacturing and pave the way for the ocean of opportunities. The present study aimed to check the status comparison of applications of Industry 4.0 enabling technologies in the healthcare (Healthcare 4.0) and pharmaceutical sectors (Pharma 4.0). It can serve as a reference tool for researchers, industry leaders, and stakeholders who are interested in addressing ever-growing problems in the healthcare sector and pharmaceutical sector through applications of Industry 4.0. A detailed summary has been included along with the applications of new emerging technologies in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector. It was found that there are relatively limited applications of Industry 4.0 technologies in the pharmaceutical sector compared to the healthcare sector. Although, more implementations are expected from both sectors as Industry 4.0 offers a significant technological transformation in the business and servicing environment.
