- Abstract: In rapidly advancing field of porous ceramics, stereolithography (SLA) is important method for 3D printing of zirconia (ZrO2 ) ceramic suspensions for medical implants. However, during SLA–3D printing of porous ceramics, shrinkage and stress waves lead to residual stress. In this work, theoretical model of residual stress in SLA–3D-printed ZrO2 ceramic porous-structure parts is established based on stress waves. It is found that variation trend of residual stress with pore size is consistent with that of stress concentration factor. Porous samples of zirconia ceramics with two types of holes (square and circular holes) are printed via SLA–3D printing. Surface residual stress of printed parts is measured to verify the correctness of theoretical model. Theoretical model proposed in this study provides theoretical guidance for SLA–3D printing of ceramic porous structures.
