- Abstract: Hydrogen peroxide, a cheap and easily available green oxidant, can not only produce oxygen, but also produce hydroxyl radical by homogenization under the catalysis of metal. Toluene and benzyl halide can be oxidized to benzaldehyde by hydrogen peroxide and participate in the reaction with 2‐aminobenzylamine. Through the construction of C−N bond, a series of quinazoline derivatives were synthesized. This reaction allows a broad range of substrates as well as good functional group compatibility. Abstract : Here we describe a novel method for the synthesis of quinazoline derivatives in DMSO through the construction of intermolecular and intramolecular C−N bonds promoted by H2 O2 . This reaction allows a broad range of substrates as well as good functional group compatibility. Quinazoline derivatives can be efficiently obtained by the reaction of benzaldehyde or benzyl bromide or toluene with 2‐aminobenzylamine.
