Abstract

Abstract: The concept of soil structure interaction was analysed and the settlement on the pile foundation on sandwich layered soil under dynamic loading. A layer of sand is placed between the soil specimen and the settlement can be found by applying dynamic loading and to retrieve the wave propagation data using accelerometer and data logger. During the testing, the frequency of the dynamic loading was kept about 5 Hz, 10 Hz, 15 Hz. Based on the observed results the graphical conclusions are obtained regarding the behaviour of the soil.
