Abstract: The highly enantioselective trifluoropyruvate-ene reactions of chiral steroid side chain olefins were achieved by dicationic palladium complexes as chiral Lewis acid catalysts to give steroidal ene-products in high diastereoselectivity. The ene products exhibited remarkably high agonist activities for human osteocalcin even in low vitamin D receptor binding affinity for human vitamin D hormone receptor. Graphical abstract:
