- Abstract: Pristine procedure of welding by Nitinol wire joinery by various methods of subtractive manufacturing on AISI 304 A and study of its effect by various parameters on repaired strength is the focus of the study of this paper. Experimental work is carried out to investigate various properties of repaired part made of the AISI 304 A plate by various joinery methods using Nitinol as filler material. These properties include tensile strength, yield elongation, hardness and micro grain structure properties. Pulsed Arc Welding, Plasma Arc Welding, Laser Cladding, Induction Brazing, Friction Stir Welding are the various joinery methods which are performed on Inconel and AISI plate using Nitinol wire and comparison of various parameters are done to undermine the susceptibility and compatibility using Nitinol Wire as filler with the stated methods. Tensile test, bend test and hardness test were tested by UTM machine. Grain size measurement was done by optical microscope. The study reveals that welding nitinol requires utmost calculative parameters control of amperage, voltage, pulse frequency, pulse duty cycle, secondary current and travel speed, which play vital role in characteristic weld strength. However, future work has scope to experiment with design and tooling, selecting mechanical joining techniques like swaging and crimping, heat treatment, coating, with other alternative techniques, which can enhance the process of repaired welding through nitinol and dissimilarAbstract: Pristine procedure of welding by Nitinol wire joinery by various methods of subtractive manufacturing on AISI 304 A and study of its effect by various parameters on repaired strength is the focus of the study of this paper.
