- Abstract: The first concise total syntheses of illicidione A and illihendione A were performed in eight and nine steps with yields of 8.4 and 12.9%, respectively. The processes featured Shi asymmetrical epoxidation and stabilized 2-iodylbenzoic acid (SIBX)-mediated oxygenating phenol dearomatization/Diels–Alder cyclodimerization as the key reaction steps.
