- Abstract: A new method for thionation of amides and esters was reported. In the presence of catalytic amount of N, N -dialkylanilines, different amides and esters were thionated with good isolated yields under mild conditions using P4 S10 as the thionating agent. The reactions were easy to carry out, and the method was effective for both aromatic and aliphatic amides and esters. Graphical abstract:
