- *Abstract: A horizontal load-carrying system composed of concrete composite wide flat beams (CWFBs) and hollow-core slabs (CHCSs) is proposed in this study to prevent the collision of reinforcements at the joint between the concrete composite beam and precast column in assembled reinforced concrete frame structures. Three CWFB specimens were prepared and tested under four-point loading condition to investigate the out-of-plane flexural performance of the CWFB with or without CHCSs. The test results showed that the CWFB and CHCSs have better collaboratively working capacity. Moreover, the out-of-plane flexural load-carrying capacity of the CWFB was enhanced by the concrete and reinforcements on the compressive and tensile sides of the CHCS, respectively. The elastic stiffness and ultimate load-carrying capacity of the CWFB were enhanced by 44.5 and 224.0% and by 34.8 and 92.4%, respectively, by adding CHCS to one or two sides of the CWFB. Finally, finite element models of the test specimens were established by using MSC. Marc software, which can accurately simulate the out-of-plane flexural performance of the CWFB with CHCSs.
