Abstract

Abstract : The electrical conductivity of single phase of Pr2 Ni1- x Cu x O4+δ and PrLaNi1- x Cu x O4+δ ceramics with K2 NiF4 structure, which were expected as new cathode materials for solid oxide fuel cells, was evaluated. Tendency of gradual electrical conductivity increase with increasing Cu content was observed for the both specimens. The improvement of sintering property by increasing Cu content was also observed for the both specimens, suggesting that the cause of increase of electrical conductivity was decrease of electrical resistivity at grain boundary due to improvement of sintering property. The observed increase of electrical conduction and sintering property showed similar behavior to those observed in Nd2 Ni1- x Cu x O4+δ .
