Abstract

Abstract : Free bases and zinc porphyrins were substituted with cyclooctatetraene, a triplet quencher, in three different fashions in order to enhance their photostability. Large decrease of the lifetime of porphyrin triplet state was observed. Photostability has been significantly improved in oxygen‐free solutions. In non‐degassed solutions, the improvement has been achieved for zinc porphyrins, but not for the free bases. For more details see the Full Paper by J. Waluk, J. Ostapko et al. on page 16666 .
