- Highlights: Aluminium alloys having low density, light weight, excellent ductility and high strength the key potency of these alloys is to full fill the necessity of modern materials. To enhance the mechanical properties of this aluminium alloys can be developed by reinforcing with ceramics such as SiC, MgO, Gr, Al2 O3 to achieve the desirable properties of the materials. The present study deals with the synthesis of AA 6061 metal matrix composites were produced using stir casting route and reinforced B4 C with 15 wt% along with varied particulate sizes (from 50 to 150 µm) are to be used. The enhancement in mechanical properties has been energizing in the base alloy subsequent to addition of B4 C particles that are exhibited by various specimen micrographics. The Vicker's micro-hardness, ultimate tensile strength tests and SEM analysis are to be performed in this study. Abstract: Aluminium metrics based aluminium alloys have numerous applications in the field of manufacturing technology. The aluminium alloys having three platforms of industrial applications which are widely used in electronics goods, ground transportation and aerospace engineering.
