- Abstract: The popularity of ride-hailing services has also had a large impact on the traditional taxi industry, and differences in residents' choice of taxi service mode between the two means of transport still exist. Through the Theory of Planned Behavior, this paper takes into account the propensity of travelers' services choice behavior and introduces the traveler External Perception variables of taxi service quality to set up a Structural Equation Model to analyze travelers' behavior selection. Then, the impact of travelers' Attitudes, Subjective Norm, Perceived Behavioral Control and External Perception on the Behavior Intention when confronted with two kinds of taxi service modes is quantified and analyzed. Traveler behavior characteristics when choosing between the traditional taxi and ride-hailing service modes are effectively explained and predicted. Finally, from the traveler's perspective, the paper provides relevant policies and measures for the operation and development of traditional taxi and ride-hailing services.
