- Abstract: Rechargeable aqueous battery (AB) is a promising alternative for energy storage applications. During the operation, instability of the electrodes leads to rapid capacity dwindling and poor stability. Binder materials have a decisive role in keeping all constituents in the electrodes intact throughout the charging-discharging operation. An aqueous binder such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) or sodium alginate (SA) was used as one of the components to construct a Bio-Graphene based lithium-mixed metal oxide energy storage device. Raman spectroscopy of synthesized bio-graphene dictates the presence of less defect in the material. The role of PVA or SA as binder materials has been studied using different characterization techniques; Cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectra. From the mentioned measurements, cyclic stability and rate capability of both the AB has been reported. A uniform equivalent circuit was proposed based on the Nyquist plot for both binders, and correspondingly the different parameters are compared for real-time application.
