- Abstract : When exposed to an electric field with exquisitely balanced stability and dynamics, the axial polarization of polar liquid crystals (LCs) can be ferroelectrically switched. These materials have been demonstrated to be promising candidates for the design of sensors and ultra‐high memory devices. Recent progress in preparing, ferroelectrically switchable LCs has been summarized in the Minireview by M. N. Nguyen and B.‐K. Cho on page 6964 ff.
