- Abstract: Disseminated phaeohyphomycosis is a rare and unusual infection that can be caused by dematiaceous fungi. Cyphellophora is an uncommon aetiological agent of cutaneous and systemic fungal infections. This study describes a case of disseminated phaeohyphomycosis caused by C. ludoviensis in Iran. The molecular identification of the isolates was established by DNA sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of rDNA. The patient was successfully treated with an 8‐month course of systemic voriconazole.
