- Abstract: Sclerophrys perreti is a critically endangered Nigerian native frog currently imperilled by human activities. A better understanding of its potential distribution and habitat suitability will aid in conservation; however, such knowledge is limited for S. perreti . Herein, we used a species distribution model (SDM) approach with all known occurrence data ( n = 22) from our field surveys and primary literature, and environmental variable predictors (19 bioclimatic variables, elevation and land cover) to elucidate habitat suitability and impact of climate change on this species. The SDM showed that temperature and precipitation were the predictors of habitat suitability for S. perreti with precipitation seasonality as the strongest predictor of habitat suitability. The following variable also had a significant effect on habitat suitability: temperature seasonality, temperature annual range, precipitation of driest month, mean temperature of wettest quarter and isothermality. The model predicted current suitable habitat for S. perreti covering an area of 1, 115 km 2 . However, this habitat is predicted to experience 60% reduction by 2050 owing to changes in temperature and precipitation. SDM also showed that suitable habitat exists in south‐eastern range of the inselberg with predicted low impact of climate change compared to other ranges. Résumé: Sclerophrys perreti est une grenouille indigène nigériane gravement en danger d'extinction actuellement menacée par les activités humaines. Une meilleure compréhension de sa répartition potentielle et de l'adéquation son habitat facilitera la conservation. Cependant, cette connaissance est limitée pour S. perreti . Ici, nous avons utilisé une approche de modèle de répartition des espèces (SDM) avec toutes les données d'occurrence connues ( n = 22) tirées de nos études sur le terrain et de la littérature primaire, ainsi que des prédicteurs de variables environnementales (19 facteurs bioclimatiques, altitude et couverture terrestre) pour élucider l'adéquation de l'habitat et l'impact du changement climatique sur ces espèces. Le SDM a montré que la température et les précipitations étaient les prédicteurs de l'adéquation de l'habitat de S. perreti, la saisonnalité des précipitations étant le facteur de prédiction le plus puissant de l'adéquation de l'habitat. La variable suivante a également eu un effet significatif sur l'adéquation de l'habitat: la saisonnalité de la température, la plage de température annuelle, les précipitations du mois le plus sec, la température moyenne du trimestre le plus humide et l'iso‐thermalité. Le modèle prévoyait un habitat convenable actuel à S. perreti d'une superficie de 1, 115 km 2 . Cependant, cet habitat devrait connaître une réduction de 60% d'ici 2050 en raison de changements de température et de précipitations. Le SDM a également montré qu'il existe un habitat convenable dans l'aire de répartition sud‐est de l'inselberg, avec un faible impact prévu du changement climatique par rapport aux autres aires de répartition.
